Trip's Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh
Depart from Hanoi at 7 AM, morning drive overland to Ninh Binh province. Upon arrival, take 1,5 hour boat rowing at Thung Nang. This area is considered as “Halong Bay on land” featured with karst formations. It is very beautiful scenery along the row with vertical sides of Limestone Mountains. Back to the dock and move to a local restaurant for a Vietnamese lunch before 2,5 hour cycling around villages, temples, rice fields and lotus ponds in the afternoon... Get back to your van and head for Cuc Phuong National Park at 4:00 PM. Arrive at the park, check in and dinner. Overnight at the national park’s guest-house.

Day 2: Ninh Binh – Hanoi
After breakfast, Start your day with 30-minute drive into the centre of the park for 3-hour trek to admire the amazing thousand-year-old trees in this oldest national park of Vietnam, On the way driving out, stop to visit a cave of pre-historic man which lies at the side of a limestone mountain. Learn how they lived here thousand years ago. Lunch at the park’s restaurant. Followed with a short walk to visit the national park’s primate rescue center and turtle center. Here the park’s guide will give you a good introduction of Vietnamese rare languors and monkeys, some of them are unique and only found in Vietnam plus with their breeding program. Back to van for a return drive to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi about 5:30 PM.

The ancient Vietnamese capital of Hoa Lu lies in Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam. The area is one of rice fields broken by picturesque limestone mountains. It was located in a flat valley between small but steep limestone mountains that created virtually impenetrable barriers to human traffic. Even today, many of the mountains are accessible only to the mountain goats that roam the area.
The Tam Coc (“three caves”) portion is a two-hour excursion by small boat along a little river, proceeding through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. The route includes floating through three natural caves.
Cuc Phuong national park is one of the oldest in Vietnam where you can visit colorful languors (monkeys) in its Primate Rescue Center, trek to the centre of the rainforest to see thousand-year-old tree.
